Job Information

Our team is looking to welcome a mature, motivated, mission-driven Epidemiologist to join Khushi Baby’s M&E to support maximization of data driven insights from the CHIP platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and spotlight burden of disease and patterns of disease distribution across health verticals
  • Develop research hypotheses to explain underlying causes of disease distributions
  • Develop study designs, survey instruments, and pre-analysis plans to systematically test research hypotheses through a variety of methods (case-control, retrospective and prospective cohorts, quasi-experimental designs, RCTs, cluster RCTs, stepped-wedge RCTs)
  • Identify relevant public and private data sets required for analysis
  • Support policy, field, and development teams to ensure accurate and ongoing collection of relevant epidemiological factors and outcomes in application and dashboard
  • Conduct analyses required to identify important spatio-temporal factors which explain underlying disease distribution
  • Generate visualizations to explain results for burdens of disease, spatial and temporal patterns of disease and driving factors
  • Complete and submit academic manuscripts for government and peer-review highlighting research findings
  • Liaise and advocate with government officials to share relevant epidemiological findings across health verticals
  • Draft technical reports required for funders, collaborators, and other partners
  • Represent Khushi Baby at relevant MEL workshops
  • Support in recruitment activities of the M&E Unit
Required Skills:
  • Completion of an MPH or PHD degree from reputable institution in the field of epidemiology, with relevant coursework / experience in biostatistics, population science, demography, public health, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, technical analysis, report writing
  • Minimum of five years of professional working experience in the role of an epidemiologist
  • Proof of published academic work within the last two years in the field of public health
  • Proficiency in R or Python; geospatial analysis software (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • Proficiency with multivariate linear and logistic regression, time series analyses, survival analyses, principal component and factor analyses, systematic reviews
You’ll stand out with
  • Prior experience working with government officials and NHM data sets
  • Publications with mixed-methods research
  • Prior experience working with mHealth / digital health projects
  • Excellence in English writing and communication
  • Demonstrated work / experimentation in prompt-engineering for tools like ChatGPT
